AT&T could be testing Samsung Galaxy S7 phones; early 2016 launch confirmed
After Samsung unveiled its newest processor, the Exynos 8890, another piece of news has started circulating about when the Korean manufacturer will likely unveil its next line of flagship smartphones. We received a unit from AT&T, preloaded with all of the DIRECTV and NFL Sunday Ticket goodies, so allow me to share my first impressions with you.
Announcing the launch of the Galaxy View on its network, AT&T Mobility’s senior vice president of Device Marketing and Developer Services, Mr. Jeff Bradley, said, “The Samsung Galaxy View is the best parts of a TV and tablet, designed with entertainment as its primary focus”. It is also highly likely that it could feature QHD resolutions of 2560 x 1440 like its predecessor. Hence, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to have a model number of SM-G930 whereas the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to carry a model number of SM-G935.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been making daily headlines leading up to their launch. Facebook has a dedicated app just for Tizen and the user experience at the end of the day is pretty similar to Android, if you don’t count Google services that is.
Once you accept the fact that the device is ridiculously large, you begin to think about all of things you can do with a device of its size.
Another rumor is, apart from the two Galaxy S7 phones, a bendable smartphone is also in the works. The company is coming to depend on components, investing in new plants for chips and displays, as its Galaxy lineup struggles to compete with Apple Inc.’s iPhones and cheaper devices in China and India. It seems like a good combo. You can buy the Galaxy View in retail stores nationwide and online at http://www.att.com. The OS is a fledgling compared to Android, but the company has proven its mettle with the latest 2.4 version of the OS.
The tablet is made for in-home portability, using a built-in handle to make it easy to get a change of scenery (say, living room to bedroom) while on a Netflix binge.
Samsung Galaxy View will be available in Black from AT&T for $0 down for well-qualified customers and $30 per month for 20 months with an AT&T Tablet Installment Plan or $499.99 with a two-year agreement. It’s a smartphone at heart, but packaged in a much more retro design.
