At war with Islamic State
Last weekend’s terrorist attacks in Paris drove home a reality Western leaders have been trying to avoid: The barbarism of the Islamic State and other such fanatics will not wither under a patient strategy of containment, and the ideology that fuels their brutality can’t be negotiated away. “There is an increasing awareness on the part of President Putin that ISIL poses a greater threat to them than anything else in the region”.
What’s more, the process by which Syrian refugees are screened for entry to the United States is extremely rigorous – and includes significant investigation into their potential involvement with or allegiance to terrorist groups.
“It will be helpful if Russian Federation directs its focus on ISIL”, Obama said.
McGurk pointed to the fact that the US conducted operations in Syria and Iraq with Kurdish and Arab forces to cut off ISIS’ supply route between the cities of Raqqa and Mosul.
“As a nation, out of this bad tragedy, God has visited grace upon us for he has allowed us to see where we’ve been blind”, the President said on this day when his voice kept rising to the top of that church.
The source close to the FSA said: “It’s not that simple as: people are fighting today, they have a ceasefire tomorrow and then they all turn their guns on Isis”. And to consider how we can improve community-led counter-radicalization efforts, including by embracing Syrian refugees as a part of these programs moving forward.
Six employees of Russian regional airline Volga-Dnepr were killed, Russia’s foreign ministry said, while six others were rescued.
Putin sent a telegram of condolences to the Malian president, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and said “the widest worldwide cooperation” was needed to confront global terrorism, according to a statement by the Kremlin. “The hateful vision of an organization like ISIL is no match for the strength of nations and people around the world who are united to live in security and peace and in harmony”.
From securing Sunni cooperation with Iraq’s Shia government, to intelligence coordination with Russian Federation, the United States must build the alliance to remove ISIS. Since the war on terror itself is a enormous fraud, any anti-terrorism agenda will by definition also be fraudulent, and a cover to centralize power and control.
“Against the background of persisting atrocities in Nigeria and other countries across the world, President Buhari calls once again for an intensification of worldwide cooperation against all known terrorist organisations, their collaborators and sponsors”.
The terrorist group intends to start a war of civilizations between the Christian world – the West – and Islam with the goal to reorganize and restructure the world.
Malian security forces are hunting for three suspects connected to the attack on a hotel in the capital, Bamako, on Friday.
Anne, a civil servant who works in Paris, tries to put things in perspective: “I know I have more risk of being run over by a vehicle than of being shot in the street”.
“Mali will not shut down because of this attack”. He confirmed that the two militants involved in the attack had been killed, although there have been conflicting reports on the number of terrorists involved in the massacre, with eye witnesses reporting that more than a dozen were involved in the attack. The group is under the command of Yahya Abou el-Hammam. We’ve spent years working with people who have gone and fought in conflict zones ever since the war in Bosnia.
And so we must be careful, thoughtful and exacting in how we respond to this situation.
More practically, imposing a no-fly zone in Syria has mission creep written all over it. We would most likely have to bomb Syrian military targets to take out their air defense systems.
The fact that another highly suspect shooting already occurred earlier this year in Paris is yet another mysterious coincidence to this November 2015 Paris attack. In my opinion, President Obama’s tone in last Monday’s news conference in Turkey was all wrong; he was tone-deaf, which we don’t expect from our politically savvy president.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron added, “my thoughts are with those caught up in the Bamako attack”.
