It was a rocky season for Johnson, who was benched after three games, but the junior went out in style.
When things went wrong for Malzahn and the Tigers this year – misfortune arrived early and visited often – the players didn’t lay down and roll over. The Badgers are 1-4 in their last five bowl games with four of those matchups decided by single digits. Auburn’s Daniel Carlson and Memphis’s Jake Elliott were finalists for the Lou Groza Award.
