Auburn Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

Ragland and Alabama travel to Auburn this week for the Iron Bowl. The home team has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban praised his players during a press conference following The Tide’s win over Division II Charleston Southern.

“When asked whether he would play both redshirt freshman QB Sean White and junior QB Jeremy Johnson in the Iron Bowl on Saturday, Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said the team “[hasn’t] determined that yet”.

It’s early in the process for most of the prospects in the 2017 class to name favorites, but Alabama and Auburn are on the early short list for the state’s best. Meanwhile, other top teams, including Ohio State and MI, have fallen and SEC East champion No. 10 Florida was taken to overtime by Florida Atlantic. They might have had family members who played for the Crimson Tide or the Tigers.

And for those wondering why Auburn screams “War Eagle” when they are the Tigers, this is the official explanation given on the Auburn website: “War Eagle” is Auburn’s battle cry, not a mascot or nickname.

“Well I think they will definitely see more visibility from law enforcement”. Everybody is just focused on trying to complete our mission which is to be in the national championship and win it at the end of the year. Alabama has lost four turnovers in the past five games after coughing it up five times against the Rebels. “We were kind of increasing penalties week in, week out”.

But there is one thing Nick Saban doesn’t know.

“It is a rivalry game, so we know they’re going to try to spoil our season, but we’re just going to try to X out all the distractions that come with the Iron Bowl and Thanksgiving and all that and try to stay focused”, defensive back Jabriel Washington said. He said right tackle Dominick Jackson and cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick are back after also sitting out the game.
