Audi sells 11192units in India in 2015;loses top slot to Merc
Meanwhile, in Europe, Mercedes-Benz will offer three variants of the E-Class, called Exclusive, Avantgarde, and AMG, not including the base models. But in all fairness the new auto (which we’ve already seen thanks to last week’s leak) with its low roof line and broad shoulders is a very sharp looking vehicle; much more so than the angular but fairly bland outgoing model. Click on the turn signal and the auto will change lanes for you if the lane is clear.
Announced as NAIAS 2016 opened, the new E-Class is reinventing itself by offering a new suite of driver assistants that appear to be leading the way aggressively toward autonomous driving.
The really novel thing that Mercedes has going here is a touch-sensitive set of controls on the steering wheel, allowing the driver to control the user interface using swipe motions – and speaking of the UI, it’s redesigned and presented on a 12.3-inch display. After trailing Audi India, Mercedes-Benz India has finally overtaken its German peer both in India and globally in 2015.

The E Class is not trying to hide its relationship with the smaller C Class and the flagship S Class, featuring large radiator grille and sweptback headlights. The engine is mated to the new 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission.
As high-end carmakers attempt to release cars filled with groundbreaking features, Mercedes-Benz may have spilled the beans with its new E-Class midsize sedan: safeguarding passengers’ hearing when accident materializes. Finally, Active Lane-Change Assistant steers the vehicle at speed into the lane selected by the driver. The “Drive Pilot” follows traffic up to 130 m.p.h.as the “Steering Pilot” reads the surroundings and reacts accordingly.
The company is taking a big step into the future with its latest E-Class, which it is positioning as the most intelligent luxury sedan when it hits the motoring retail markets towards the second half of this year.
