Australian quick Mitchell Starc unsure when he can bowl again
Paceman Nathan Coulter-Nile is in line to make his Test debut after being named Tuesday in Australia s squad for the opening clash against the West Indies in Hobart next week.
Australia beat New Zealand 2-0 in the three-Test series but suffered several anxious moments in the final Test in Adelaide when they scraped home by three wickets in pursuit of a meagre 187 for victory, reports CMC.
“He came back very well, fresh in the Australia A series in India earlier this year so we’re not too concerned about that”, Marsh told when questioned, if Coulter-Nile’s lack of recent red ball cricket saw him as something of a carefully choosing risk.
“I felt that pleased for the bowlers – because the poor devils had not much going for them in the other two matches [Brisbane and Perth]” Marsh said.
While the first Test against West Indies is still a few days away, talks of Coulter-Nile making it into the playing XI are slightly remote for now given the presence of Josh Hazlewood, Peter Siddle and James Pattinson in the squad.
The panel is also mulling the pressing need to give Adelaide Test man-of-the-match Josh Hazlewood some time off to refresh as Australia face a three-Test series against the West Indies and two return Tests in New Zealand in February.

Cricket Australia chief executive officer James Sutherland said: “We are delighted that so many have embraced the day-night Test concept”.
Thirty-seven wickets tumbled in three days as the pink ball dominated the bat, and the first Test to be played under lights in the 138-year history of the five-day game drew a total of 123,736 fans.
“You’ve got to think of the kid’s health”.
Chairman of selectors Rod Marsh wants Peter Nevill to aim high.
“Consistency is the name of the game for me and once we’re consistent, I’ll be pleased with the progression that we’re making”.
“Injuries are always disappointing but unfortunately that’s part and parcel of fast bowling”, Starc said.
Peter Siddle has overcome heartache and back-ache to hit the winning runs in Australia’s gripping Test triumph against New Zealand.
“You got to believe you can get the better of them and if you do that then you start to gain respect and you will find yourself at the same level with them probably even past them”.
