Authorities: 4 dead after small plane crashes in Wisconsin
Wisconsin authorities following the signal of a cellphone discovered the bodies of two men in the wreckage of a small plane that was long overdue at the Experimental Aircraft Association convention.
NTSB officials were set to investigate the crash along with the FAA and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the broadcaster, the plane came down on Monday evening southwest of Amery town. “At first I thought it was a helicopter”.
Witnesses told WCCO the saw the plane spiral down and crash into a ball of flames.
“He said it was kind of twirling around, going down to the ground”, Olson said.
Deputies who responded found a single-engine Beechcraft plane burning in the field. The remains were removed to Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka, MN for autopsies and positive identifications.
A Federal Aviation Administration team is on its way to the scene, according to FOX 9.
