It was the auto Schnatter, or better known now-a-days as Papa John sold so he could help his dad who was going through bankruptcy. The convertible with a black soft top and custom license plate ITSMY66 was taken from the Park Street parking structure between 12:30 and 2 p.m. The Camaro was located in 2009 which he shelled out $250,000 for the vehicle and gave $25,000 to the original buyers.
It was brought to the Motor City for the annual Woodward Dream Cruise.
Papa John’s spokesman Bob Kraut tells The Associated Press founder John Schnatter is “distraught” over the theft.
ABC World News Tonight was there when Schnatter was reunited with the auto in 2010.
Kraut says the vehicle was on display at the Dream Cruise, an event that draws hundreds of thousands of people each year.
