Auto Expo 2016 Starts Tomorrow

Hitachi Automotive Systems India announced that the company will exhibit at the 13th Delhi Auto Expo 2016 – Components Show from February 4th-7th at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

Noida: The Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) flyway will be toll free for a designated period daily during the Auto Expo February 5 to February 9.

Top sources in the company told TOI the compact SUV -codenamed HND-14 -is being handled by the research and development centre at Hyderabad, which is carrying out the groundwork for the new vehicle platform.

“Vitara Brezza is true to its category of a compact urban SUV”, said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive, Maruti Suzuki India.

According to Kevin Flynn, president and MD of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which launched Jeep in India on Wednesday, the market for SUVs in India is growing at 22 percent annually and is expected to reach close to a million units by 2020.

The company said the Tucson represents a significant step forward in the future SUV line-up for the Indian automobile market.

“It is not enough to just introduce new technology in India, you have to make it relevant for the market and the buyers”, reports quoted CV Raman, head of engineering at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, as saying.

The adventure utility vehicle D-MAX V-Cross would be manufactured from April at its Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh.

The AUV comes with a 4WD (4X4) configuration, high ride and can be registered as a personal vehicle.

Since the SUV does not fall in Maruti’s premium line-up, it is priced competitively and will be retailed from the regular Maruti outlets instead of Nexa.

Eight brand new auto models, including the Bentley Bentayga, Infiniti Q30, Jaguar XE, Jaguar XF, Land Rover Discovery Sport, McLaren 570S, MINI Clubman and Vauxhall Astra, were produced in United Kingdom plants in 2015, and with £2.5 billion (Rs 24,607 crore) of fresh investment committed in 2015, more are set to follow in the coming months.

On its part, Piaggio India unveiled its forthcoming crossover two-wheeler Aprilia SR 150.

Bollywood celebrities, including Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, along with sportstars Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli added to the glamour quotient.
