Auto Expo: All-new BMW X1 image gallery
Germany’s BMW Group on Wednesday introduced its 7-Series flagship saloon at the Auto Expo, as it aims to establish its luxury brand in India.
Aimed at attracting the attention of an elite set of buyers in India, 2016 BMW 7 Series will be seen in a new design with a host of state of the art board technologies.
Referring to the domestic production of BMW 7 Series, he said that with the local production of the BMW 7 Series at the Chennai plant, “our commitment to “Make In India” will continue successfully in future”. The X1 has been priced from a attractive Rs. 29.90 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 39.90 lakhs, while the all new 7-Series will retail at Rs. 1.11 crore which goes up to Rs. 1.55 crore (All prices Ex-showroom, Delhi). All the BMW X1 models that will be sold now are diesels while sales of the petrol variants will start from late-2016.
Both the cars were launched by legendary cricketer and Member of Parliament Sachin Tendulkar at the 13th Auto Expo here today.
Talking about the features equipped with the BMW 7 Series, the company is offering gesture control support, BMW Touch command system and wireless charging. BMW has used carbon fibre, steel, aluminium, and plastic in its construction calling it carbon core structure and has achieved 200 kg in weight savings.
BMW’s other launch, the X1 SUV is based on the UKL platform that allows it to shed 135Kgs. It has been launched with two engine options – a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine that develops 261BHP and a 4.4-litre V8 petrol that develops 443BHP.
