With the new ad, the brand is firmly targeting women, presenting Washington, Henson and Blige having a girly afternoon with a mixtape party (thanks to the playlist function the service offers). And if the other two follow suit, they should be pretty successful. The folks at Apple Music know exactly what they’re doing by focusing so heavily on the hip-hop generation in their marketing.
Apple positions Music as the killer of the boyfriend-made mixtape.
Apple unveiled its music-streaming service in June and offered users a free three-month trial, which will end in September for those who signed up when the streaming service was first released.
Oh, and there was more black-girl magic happening behind the scenes.
One, it was directed by Selma’s, Ava DuVernay, but it also shows three of some of Hollywood’s most powerful women dancing to some incredible hits, including Slick Rick.
