‘Avengers: Infinity’ will only be one movie, not two

Civil War is still the highest-grossing movie of 2016 with over $1.15 billion in the bank. However, the second half has been renamed “Untitled Avengers” on the official schedule.
The Russos previously indicated that the Infinity War titles would be changed because each film will stand on its own with a complete story, as opposed to one movie ending on a cliffhanger to be resolved by the next sequel.
Quoting the directorial duo, Anthony and Joe Russo, Entertainment Weekly pointed out that, back in May, they said that the two are “very different movies” even predicted a name change.
It’s learned that Marvel Studios and Disney have retitled the twoAvengers: Infinity War movies. We’ve seen them take Inhumans off the docket entirely, slot in Sony’s rebooted Spider-Man, and most recently, make a huge announcement concerning the two-part Avengers: Infinity War saga. This would obviously suggest that the two movies are no longer meant to run as a pair, but will instead follow a more conventional Avengers sequel formula.
Marvel has announced that the first part will retain the Infinity Wars title but the second film is yet to be named.
ComicBook.com reports that while the film will not be split in two as originally reported, it is still scheduled to be released on May 4th, 2018.
According to a report by Collider, Walt Disney and Marvel have both made a decision to cut down the 2-part itinerary for what was supposed to be the final film of the “Avengers” trilogy. Apparently, putting in the films as “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” was a misleading move on both studios end. Certainly, Cap and Falcon bonded heavily throughout Captain America: Winter Soldier, so a Falcon-heavy storyline might be the way the directors decide to go.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps getting deeper and deeper into the comics lore and keeps adding more and more characters to its bulging ensembles, each film in the franchise gets packed with more and more plot.
