Avril Lavigne continues her fight against Lyme disease
Pop star Avril Lavigne finally has something to smile about in her yearlong battle with Lyme disease – doctors have told her she’s on her way to “good health”.
Lavigne also shared a pic of vials of blood, with an uplifting message for fans: “On my way to good health #TakingCareOfMyself”.
“This journey continues…Just reach up, don’t give up until you’ve touch the sky…We were all meant to fly…#DrOfficePhotoShoot”, she wrote with the image below.
After staying away from the spotlight for months, Lavigne resurfaced in April to reveal that she was battling the tick-borne illness. I’m halfway through my treatment now.
The singers announced on Instagram earlier this month that they’ve chose toseparate after two years of marriage. “I’m doing a lot better”, she said.
“I had no idea a bug bite could do this”, she says.
The Complicated singer seemed in good spirits in a second picture, which showed her sat on a doctor’s chair dressed in a pair of jeans and a baseball cap and smiling.
Lavigne was first diagnosed with Lyme Disease last October when she became totally immobile.
The former couple tied the knot last 2013 in France. In addition, while atop an examination table in another shot, the singer looks upbeat, healthy and ready for the next challenge (which is hopefully not the tongue depressor, because frankly, she’s dealt with enough already). “I was bedridden for five months”. I really just want to go out there and truly do what I love. “To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support”, she added.
