Aw, bummer, the Mavericks signed Maurice Ndour
The Dallas Mavericks signed a three-year contract with free agent forward Maurice Ndour, a native of Senegal who played on the New York Knicks’ summer league team in Las Vegas earlier this month.
One can only hope the Knicks’ reluctance to bite off as much money (guaranteed money, which is far from a given for camp invites) as the post-DeAndre Mavericks did doesn’t come back to haunt them. Knicks fans watched the summer league intently to see what they had in fourth overall pick Kristaps Porzingis and while he was somewhat impressive the player that stood out the most was Maurice Ndour. Dallas signed D-League star Jarrid Famous to a three-year deal on Monday. Ndour is somewhat of a tweener in regards to his position.
Second is not getting cut at all – where can he make a roster? He had great energy and outworked people at both ends of the floor, was disruptive on defense thanks to his length, and a averaged 9.6 points and 4.8 rebounds a game, while shooting 51.2 percent.
Ndour is a little bit undersized to play power forward at the National Basteball Association level but he should be just fine when you consider that his wingspan is 7 foot-4.
