Baahubali mints Rs.60 crore on release day
Mumbai/Chennai: Filmmaker S.S Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali: The Beginning“, the first part in a two-part war drama, has grossed approximately Rs.
The release of Baahubali was one of the most sought after, not only in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but also in states such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka as the earlier movies of the director received a rousing welcome as they were all released in multi-lingual.
The movie is expected to collect 30 crore rupees on its first day at the box office, globally. “100 crore club over the weekend”, believes trade analyst Trinath. It has gone to on to become the first dubbed film with the highest opening weekend. Its first-day net collection and distributors’ share stand at 62 crore and 45 crores respectively in the global market.
The movie is being released in four Indian languages simultaneously – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. In USA, it has set the cash registers on fire.
This movie is one of the most expensive movie as its production cost was around Rs. Thursday preview crossed $ 1 million: $ 1,294,451 [[]] {1.80 crore}. The film’s collection increased over 40% on day 2, Saturday.
Producer Dil Raju, who distributed the film in Nizam area, is extremely happy with the numbers.

Several online ticket booking websites crashed on Friday morning because mammoth crowds rushed to the internet platforms to book their tickets of the movie.
Given that the director has spent around Rs 250 crore on his pet projects and the film has survived the anticipation and hype, people are now waiting for the second part to hit screens next summer, which means Baahubali will easily recover its investments.
