Baby Doe’s killers thought she was possessed by demons
The individual went on to tell investigators that he was “appalled” at how McCarthy and Bond treated Bella.
Amoroso said he returned to Massachusetts in August after living in Florida for a few years.
The friend said that Bond had repeatedly said that Bella had been taken into state custody.
Asked after the vigil about DCF’s handling of the case, Baker said his administration will aggressively push for changes to the agency’s protocols in the intake process and other areas. “He believed her, and that’s all that he was ever told by Miss Bond”.
“At that point he said, “that’s great, you’ll be able to get yourself clean and get Bella back”, recalled Mr Deakin. They did not learn her identity until last week, when Bond told Sprinsky that McCarthy had punched her daughter in the abdomen over and over again until she died, Deakin said.
McCarthy is charged with the murder of the child, Bella Bond, and both McCarthy and Bond are charged with improper disposal of a body. But she didn’t act on that thought.
“Mike McCarthy, you’re done!” he yelled. “Or [derogatory term] Ms Bond?”
Authorities had contact with Bella for four months in 2012 and three months in 2013, prosecutors said.
NBC News reported that a “lifelong friend” of McCarthy had helped break the case when he recognized a composite photo of Baby Doe on a billboard.
UPDATE: (9:50 a.m.): The prosecution has asked that Michael McCarthy be held without bail and that Rachelle Bond be held on $1-million bail. He told Boston.com that he and Bond planned to go to authorities. “Ms Bond didn’t hear any noise in the bedroom for some time”.
[How a father found out that Boston’s “Baby Doe” was his daughter]. “She realized her daughter was dead”.
“When Miss Bond looked at Bella, her head was swollen, and her face was grey”.
According to the friend, the couple had locked Bella inside a closet at least twice for 30 minutes to an hour while she screamed, the prosecutor said.
Massachusetts police say they have identified a young girl whose body was discovered on a Boston beach in June as two-and-a-half years old Bella Bond.
Rachelle Bond, and Bond’s boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, were arraigned on September 21 for the death of precious Bella – aka ‘Baby Doe.’ There was one heartbreaking emotional outburst in the court and it was from Bella’s godmother.
Prosecutors allege Ms Bond panicked and didn’t know what to do. McCarthy’s relationship to Bella is not clear, authorities said. He drove the auto to the Boston Seaport, added weights to the bag and dumped it into the water, the prosecutor said.
The medical examiner has not determined final cause of death, but indicated that one possibility was suffocation or asphyxiation.
DNA received by the infant’s hairbrush and compared to Baby Doe indicate a match. Then he threatened to kill Bella’s mom if she told anyone, and after wrapping the girl’s body in plastic and placing it in the fridge, they went on a bender that lasted several days. He was denied bond. McCarthy was charge with murder and held without bail. He claimed that Bond confessed Bella’s death to him last week, exclaiming, “Our daughter is dead…”
Bella Bond’s biological father, Joe Amoroso, was in court for the arraignment on Monday morning.
