Baby found dead with stab wounds in Australia
Authorities believe the mother of the child is responsible for her untimely death.
A six-week old baby girl has been found this morning in her Newcastle home with her throat slit, The Daily Telegraph has reported.
News Corp Australia reported that the mother, allegedly killed her baby, and that the child’s father was home at the time.
The mother is being questioned by police and report will be prepared for the coroner.
It now being alleged that the attack was perpetrated by the baby’s mother, who is being questioned by police in Waratah.
It is understood the infant was found dead in the weatherboard house and that her throat had been cut. Following an interrogation by the police, it is expected that she will undergo a full psychiatric assessment.
The family moved into the area about six months ago, neighbours said.

“The boys would wave, it was never any worry”. Police have taped off the street, and forensic officers are combing the crime scene.
A van arrived at the scene after 3pm and a small handled case was carried from the house and placed in the vehicle before it drove away.
