Baby found in house with homicide victim

Police initially responded to a call at around 8 a.m., reporting an unsecured residence on the 8000 block of Millstone Court in Severn, Maryland. The neighbor contacted police.

Detectives identified the woman found dead Tuesday morning as 24-year-old Karlyn Serane Ramirez.

It is unclear at this time what type of injuries the woman had.

Investigators say the infant was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

County police said in a statement that the infant was not hurt. The body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to be performed to determine the final cause and manner of death.
