Back on Morning Joe, Chris Christie’s Still Not Happy With MSNBC
He raises hell in a room full of journalists and trusts that someone watching – someone who is carrying some resentment at some figure in some bureaucracy for some reason – sees the avatar of his own tormentors and feels validated by the vicarious verbal thrashing delivered by Christie. So you’re accountable, it’s different from being responsible.
“I’ve known the governor since his first primary, and I expected more of him”, Shivery told The Associated Press.
Christie didn’t specify exactly who should apologize to the now-declared presidential candidate, but he did target “people who accuse you of doing something wrong” as his main detractors. “It’s disgraceful”, Christie said on Morning Joe.
Christie said that Washington was unwilling to have an “honest conversation” about dealing with an aging population and mounting Social Security and health care costs.
Christie stated that the Republican Kentucky senator should be the one in hearings if there’s another terror attack on US soil.
The appearance was Christie’s first on the show since a December interview where he said that MSNBC has “an agenda” and that his relationship with Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski had been frayed over the controversy. Paul’s campaign proudly sells his cheekily-branded “NSA spy cam blockers” among the merchandise on its website.
“The largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world is moving toward a nuclear weapon with the permission of the United States. It’s outrageous”, Christie said.
When Christie recently announced his formal bid for the Republican presidential nomination in late June he had dismal poll ratings across New Jersey where 55 percent disapprove of his performance in office.
CHRISTIE: I’m a better person.
Christie said such critics did not know what they were talking about, and added that he did because he served as USA attorney in New Jersey for nearly seven years. On the other hand, 89% confirmed for a second time that they really think he would make a bad president. Actually, no. One of the three was led by a handpicked Christie loyalist, and his “investigation” was widely dismissed as an embarrassing joke.
CBS’s Nora O’Donnell asks about his “slumber party” at Mitt Romney’s New Hampshire vacation house.
Both Christie and Rubio later marched in Wolfboro’s July 4 parade.
CHRISTIE: Sure. How couldn’t you be after you go through that? “People are wonderful here”. “And they won’t. That’s a lot tougher conversation to have”.
