“Bad Boys” Threequel Is a Go as “Bad Boys for Life”
And the Bad Boys saga isn’t stopping there.
According to Deadline the studio is yet to settle on a production start date, meaning the film would not be ready for release during the 2017 United States summer. After years in limbo, the new project – fittingly titled Bad Boys For Life – has begun to move forward with a release date in place.
The third instalment of the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence franchise was due to hit cinemas from June 2017, but has now been pushed back to January 2018.
The movie – which re-teams Smith and Lawrence as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett – also has an official title now: “Bad Boys for Life”. “Bad boys for life”. That’s nearly a full year later than the flick’s initially announced release date of February 17, 2017, but at least Sony is still updating fans on the project, which Smith had insisted as recently as this past February was still happening.
“Bad Boys 4” is scheduled for a July 3, 2019 release.
Will Smith can now be seen on the big screen in “Suicide Squad” in which he plays expert assassin Deadshot. Hopefully the film can live up to its fantastic new title. (See the clip, below.) The two will reprise the roles they debuted in 1995’s Bad Boys – Michael Bay directed that movie and the sequel.
