Bajaj Auto unveils the new range of Avengers
Bajaj Auto has launched the new Avenger models in India.
The Avenger 220 Street is highly reminiscent of the Harley Davidson Street 750, with the full black theme including the 12-spoke black alloy wheels.
“The genuine cruiser segment has steadily grown over the years with the Avenger as the torch-bearer”. While the Street models measure 801 mm in width and 1,070 mm in height, the Cruise measures 806 mm and 1.142 mm in width and height respectively. The 150 Street comes in midnight blue. The Street series is all set to take on the city challenges on weekdays and go on long easy rides on weekends. The other components that are finished in black are the engine assembly, the exhaust pipe, the new handlebar, the centre console on top of the fuel tank, and the pillion grab handle.
Out of the three variants, two 220 cc models have already been spied a couple of times but the third model which is expected to powered by a 150 cc engine is still eluding. If unaltered, the output would be 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
Mumbai: Bajaj Auto Tuesday launched three new variants of its sports biking brand, the Avengers, and priced them under Rs 85,000 with a view to popularise leisure biking. We feel that by bringing in an additional style variant such as the Street, and offering the popular 150 cc capacity, we will significantly expand the cruiser segment. “These bikes are very different from the existing bikes in the market and help the firm in strengthening the hold in the premium segment of the market”, he said.
The Avenger range is manufactured at Bajaj’s plant at Chakan in Pune and will also be exported soon.
