Bajirao Mastani 1st Day Collection, Takes Decent Start but Gets Positive Reviews
Starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, “Dilwale” saw a great footfall at the theatres with occupancy of nearly 70%. Given the massive scale at which Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani have been made, the two films releasing on the same day has impacted business.
As per Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR Pictures “Bajirao Mastani” as well as “Dilwale” are big films and both got good advance bookings which is unprecedented for both the films. “Bajirao” might settle for a Rs 10-12 crore opening day figure.
Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo had opened with a remarkable Rs 40 crore on day one with ticket windows.
Bajirao Mastani narrates the love story of the Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I and his second wife Mastani. Bajirao Mastani movie is going very well and all the fans of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are watching the movie repeatedly for their awesome performances.
Dilwale released in UAE on Thursday and the film had record breaking opening day collection of $900,000!
Most of the single screens are owned by Bajirao Mastani while most of the multiplexes are filled with Dilwale. “Dilwale’ and “Bajirao Mastani’ have hit cinema screens worldwide yesterday”. The initial pubic talk & theater response reversed the fate of two movies as people voted Bajirao to be the victor.
Ajit said, his family members and friends had planned to watch “Bajirao Mastani” together but they are extremely disappointed as there will be no screening of the film. By far one of the most awaited films of the year Dilwale, released on Friday December 18. Had there been no clash, the film would have easily earned over Rs 15 crore and had a much better opening. However, just a few days ago, the actor after the constant backlash his film faced, chose to release an apology.
