‘Bajirao Mastani’ crosses Rs.100 crore-mark worldwide
As “Bajirao Mastani” released the other day making almost 14 crores “gross” from Hindi version alone, and that’s tremendous for sure. The film narrates the story of the Maratha warrior Peshwa (Prime Minister) Bajirao I of the Maratha Empire and his second wife Mastani.
Bajirao Mastani is reported to have been made on a budget of Rs 120 crore of which the producer is said to have recovered half of it via the sale of its satellite and music rights.
“It all depends on the weekend”. “Currently I am busy with “Dilwale” only, once I am through with it will definitely see the film sometime early next year”. The whole week collection of Bajirao Mastani will expected to be 50-60 Crore.
The clash of the two titans, “Dilwale” and “Bajirao Mastani” both of them are going wild on domestic as well as overseas screens. Bajirao Mastani starrs Ranvir, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. Deepika also made the bold move of opening up about her own struggles with depression and has launched The Live Love Laugh Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to addressing the issue of mental health in the Asian community around the world.
Another industry expert Manoj Desai from Gaiety Galaxy emphasised that the response to Bhansali’s magnums opus is growing with word of mouth. When asked if it is possible to be friends today with other actresses, she says, “It depends…with Priyanka it is different”. The audience will decide whether this movie stand in front of Dilwale or not. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial also features actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika. She says, “Honestly, I am not aware of what the numbers should have been like”.
“I was busy finishing the film”. Both the films released on Friday.
Trade guru Sunil Bansal from Rajasthan said: “Due to protests, a few shows of “Dilwale” were cancelled in Rajasthan”.
Now it is clear that the flick will collect the decent amount in weekdays too. Incidentally, Khan’s last release, Happy New Year, touched the Rs. 100 crore mark within the first three days.
