Baker Mayfield expected to play in Bedlam

Mayfield is the prime reason the Oklahoma offense has been so explosive and among the nation’s best in 2015. But just before halftime TCU also fumbled, and Oklahoma defensive end Charles Tapper pounced on the loose ball.

Mayfield leads active FBS quarterbacks in passing efficiency, with a completion rate of 68.6 percent. Oklahoma State will need Clemson, Alabama, Iowa, Notre Dame, and possibly MI State to lose for any traction in the CFP rankings. He had the one 39-yard miss and I thought really kind of struggled punting the ball most of the night. So for now, Oklahoma’s shot at the Big 12 title remains intact.

The Sooners would’ve graded out perfectly had it not been for KaVontae Turpin’s huge touchdown grab that gashed the Oklahoma secondary in the fourth quarter. Of those three one-loss teams, Oklahoma is the Big 12’s best playoff bet in an argument that could be with Notre Dame, although there’s a lot left to play out.
