Bale admits to uncertain Madrid future
Gareth Bale has hopefully put an end to nonsense about him joining Manchester United by openly stating his happiness at Real Madrid.
According to the report, Bale is unhappy with life in Spain and is seeking a move back to the Premier League.
“I’m happy at the moment”, he said. ‘You can never predict what will happen in the future but right now I am enjoying my football’.
He said: “Possible departures, I don’t think and I don’t want. I sincerely wish him the best”. “When I do that I play my best”, he said.
Zinedine Zidane’s tenure as Real Madrid boss got off to a promising start Saturday thanks to a pair of stellar performances from Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has criticised club president Florentino Perez for his decision to sack Rafa Benitez, saying he “cannot understand the decision”. “I want to enjoy this win”. “We did that and we are going to improve it. That was how we planned it. We can improve in terms of ball recovery, but gradually – I have only just taken over and things need time”.
Earlier at the Nou Camp, Turkey playmaker Arda Turan, making his La Liga debut for Barca, set captain Messi up to score the opening goal from close range in the eighth minute.
The sky-high expectations at the Bernabeu come part and parcel with the job, with fans and the club’s board alike liable to scrutinising team selection, playing style and, most of all, results.
While Deportivo are hardly the strongest opponents Real will face this season, there appears to be solid optimism the 43-year-old – whose only previous coaching role was with Madrid’s feeder team Castilla in the Spanish third tier – can help the club triumph again.
Zidanes name was chanted before kick-off, whilst on the big screens a video recalled his most glorious moments as a Madrid player, including his fiery volley to win the 2002 Champions League final.
Modric, who started his first match under Zidane during the win, said that he sympathizes with Benitez, but that the difference since his sacking has been clear to see. “I am happy with our first game and with the three or four days that we had of training sessions”.
“We know what can happen in the league, we know we have to keep fighting all the way and we’ll keep doing that until the last whistle”.
