There were early signs that it would be a struggle for England as Root almost fell for nine in the fourth over of the day, only to be dropped at leg slip by Virat Kohli off Ashwin.

But a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official rubbished the report stating that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not brought any charges against the India captain.
