Bank hospital, kill Palestinian
Undercover Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian and seized a stabbing suspect in a raid on a West Bank hospital, Palestinian officials say.
The footage, released by the hospital, showed about a dozen men entering a hospital ward, some wearing fake beards and two dressed as women.
Palestinian Health Minister Jawad Awad accused Israeli security forces of “executing” Abdallah al-Shalalda, who he said was escorting a relative inside the facility. Another time, they entered an east Jerusalem hospital to confiscate documents. It said Shalaldeh, who is about 20, was in the hospital being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered after being shot by his stabbing victim. Witnesses report that he was not armed, was some metres away from the soldiers and police and had not attempted to attack them.
“The man is in a hospital, he’s not planning to attack soldiers”, said Mr Al Sharif. Israeli media reported that at least two Israelis were wounded and taken to hospital.
Since October 1, 12 Israelis have been killed. It was the latest in an ongoing spree of nearly daily Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers. He was receiving treatment at the West Bank hospital when the Israeli troops raided it.
“To come and kill someone in a hospital is unbelievable”, said Mr Al Sharif, the hospital’s board member.
It states that for products from West Bank or the Golan Heights that originate from settlements, the expression “Israeli settlement” or equivalent needs to be added, in brackets; while for products from the West Bank not originating from settlements could be labelled “product from Palestine” or ‘Palestinian product’.
According to the Israeli military, the Palestinian attacker opened fire as the family was driving near Hebron, killing the father, who was in his 40s, and his 18-year-old son. “Israeli forces must immediately cease their use of intentional lethal force against people who are not posing an imminent threat to life”.
Also Friday, two Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli troops, one near Hebron and the other in the city of Ramallah, Palestinian officials said.
The man was identified as a 23-year-old from the village of Budrus, Army Radio said. He escaped by vehicle after the shooting.
On the Palestinian side 81 people have died, including one Israeli Arab. Many have been attackers, but they have also included protesters shot in clashes with the army.
JNS.org reached out to three Israeli scholars-a self-proclaimed “left-wing” Jewish academic, self-proclaimed “right-wing” Jewish academic, and self-proclaimed “centrist” Israeli-Arab aca-demic-and asked each of them the same questions. Moreover, shooting a wounded person is a wilful killing in grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
