Barack Obama Drives A 1963 Corvette With Jerry Seinfeld!
In contrast to previous episodes, the season 7 premiere showing of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Automobiles Getting Coffee was exclusively totally different.
After tapping on the window of the Oval Office to let Obama know he’s arrived, Seinfeld and the commander in chief take a quick spin in a steel-blue 1963 Corvette Stingray – “The coolest auto ever made for the coolest guy to ever hold this office”, Seinfeld says – but the Secret Service won’t let the president off of White House grounds for a quick joy ride.
The episode began airing Wednesday night, and it kicks off with Seinfeld phoning the president.
“Growing up in the ’60s, my kid dream was always to be an astronaut – doing a comedy show with President Obama in and around the White House felt like going into space”, Seinfeld said in a statement. Barack Obama: “Speaking…” Jerry Seinfeld: Sir, may I compliment you on cutting on that red tape in Washington. Just make sure you come back here to discuss in the comments!
The two have some fun at Larry David’s expense.
In defence of the inclusion, Seinfeld says Obama “has gotten off enough amusing lines to be qualified for this show”. When host Jerry Seinfeld asks about his most embarrassing second, the president replies: “This maybe it”.
“A pretty sizable percentage”, Obama estimated.
The show runs on Crackle, a unit of Sony Pictures Television, and can be watched at www.crackle.com.
