Barack Obama is to take part in Bear Grylls’ latest adventure show
President Obama set foot in Alaska on Monday and will be staying there for three days while filming the episode. Grylls would give the president a crash course in survival techniques for an episode of his show, “Running Wild”, to air later this year.
What horrors could be in store for the 44th President of the United States in the Arctic Circle? Sounds ridiculous? It’s all been done on the show before. The trip was already historic in that no other USA president had ever spent as much that much time on the ground in Alaska.
Running Wild with Bear Grylls is produced by Bear Grylls Ventures and Electus with Delbert Shoopman, Dave Pearce, Chris Grant, Viki Cacciatore and Liz Schulze serving as executive producers.
Celebrities including Kate Winslet, Channing Tatum and Drew Brees have participated in the show featuring one-on-one adventures.
Grylls posted a link to a video of President Obama’s weekly address in which he laid out his plans to visit Alaska to assess the impact greenhouse gases are having on the environment. Speaking about the upcoming series of “Running Wild” recently, Grylls said: “The fun bit is that it’s not planned too much”.
The next step: Bear Grylls landed President Obama on his reality show, where they’ll talk global warming in Alaska.
One formal White House petition has taken that into account, and decided that the thing the people want most is for the president to drink his own urine.
And, earlier in 2014, PETA criticized first lady Michelle Obama for using real hard-boiled eggs during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
The actual episode will air later in 2015.
