Barack Obama’s Bear Grylls appearance SLAMMED by David Spade as star blasts
Comedian David Spade has taken some time away from grabbing attention where he can get it by criticizing President Obama’s recent run on reality TV.
Spade’s media critique came a few days after he reportedly tweeted about Obama’s Bear Grylls episode: “Why is Obama on Bear Grills trying to survive in the tundra?”.
David Spade is in the headlines, which is no small feat for the comedian and thespian, whose latest roles include the voice of Sparx, a dragonfly in the video game “The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning” and the nay-saying employee in Capital One commercials.
Spade also reserved some criticism for First Lady Michelle Obama, whom he said goes on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show more than he does. “I think they’re going to do fine, but they’re plotting [for] after the White House”. He referred to Obama’s appearance on Running Wild with Bear Grylls earlier in the month. “Leave that to Bradley Cooper”, he says.
It’s hard not to sense the jealousy in Spade’s claims of Obama’s thirst, especially when he emphasizes that Obama is “already above us” as president and therefore has no business in show business, which sounds like a thinly veiled, “Not fair!”
The actor makes some good points, but labelling the President as “thirsty” might be a bit too much.
He even slammed Barak Obama on all the appearances on magazine covers. “I realize Woodrow Wilson was on “Dancing With the Stars” once, but … what president does reality shows? You’re the president! You’re above all of us”, Spade said.
