Baraka Obama backs Hillary Clinton’s bid to succeed him
Clinton is speaking to the national conference of Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C. She’s thanking the non-profit women’s health group for their support in the primary and highlighting her staunch support for abortion rights. How so? It seems to me that the person who got the most votes won.
HILLARY CLINTON: Well, that hurts my feelings. “I told him I was proud of him and what he accomplished”.
Unlike the prompt rapprochement reached between Clinton and Obama in 2008 primary season, reconciliation this time between Sanders and Clinton could be elusive. He’s very likable. I agree with that. “And I think this is what we need”.
Trump tweeted: “Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary”.
The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, on Thursday endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
In addition to Obama’s endorsement, Clinton also garnered the endorsements of Vice President Joe Biden, former primary rival Martin O’Malley as well as Senator Elizabeth Warren. She has also said the most important criterion for her will be whether her vice president could be ready to be president in a heartbeat.
The announcement follows a private Oval Office meeting between Obama and Clinton’s Democratic rival, Vermont Sen. “I’m not pushing him to do anything”, he said.
When asked at an early February stop in Springfield whether she still worries about Clinton’s ties to the financial industry, Warren said she has “concerns about everybody’s relationships with Wall Street”.
“Needless to say, I am going to do everything in my power, and I will work as hard as I can, to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States”, Sanders added.
The Koch network spent almost $400 million previous year picking causes and candidates it hopes will win in the 2016 cycle, and had prepared to spent as much as $889 million in all this cycle.
I find it perplexing that some Bernie supporters are calling the system “rigged”.
However, now the speculation about Elizabeth taking the Vice President spot alongside Hillary has been fueled.
Sure, Hispanics may not like Trump.
Trump assailed the endorsement on Twitter: “He wants four more years of Obama-but nobody else does!” Turns out that might not have worked.
Warren, whose rhetoric on income inequality and economic populism is in the same vein as that of Sanders, is frequently mentioned as a potential running mate for Clinton, though it’s unclear whether she is being formally vetted for the position. But does that suggest Hispanic voters actually like Clinton or merely dislike Trump? He’ll visit several swing states beginning Friday on a trip that begins in Virginia and includes Florida, New Hampshire and North Carolina.
Bernie’s had a lot of ideal moments to drop out. On Thursday, she offered a blistering attack on the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
“Do you think Republicans are happy with their choice?” Earnest said Obama recorded his video Tuesday.
