Barbara Bush stumps for Jeb in new video, letter appeal to voters
“I can’t tell you what my mom’s advice has been because it is R rated”. He accompanied the post with a photo of Barbara Bush wearing shoulder pads and eye black.
John Heilemann, co-host of Bloomberg Television’s “All Due Respect”, not only called former first lady Barbara Bush a “mean” person, but went so far as to say he’d like to see Jeb Bush’s campaign “unleash” her on Donald Trump.
“I spend time talking about my family in a loving way”, Bush said.
“We’ve had enough Bushes”, she declared in 2013 – only to have to walk back the comment once her son started angling to join the 2016 field of Republicans.
Wow … Bush has his own mother taking thinly-veiled shots at Donald Trump?
Republican presidential hopeful, Senator Marco Rubio on Friday entered the Donald Trump-Ted Cruz fight over the “establishment”, by slamming the billionaire businessman as someone who isn’t a “movement conservative” and calling the Texas senator “incredibly calculated”. “People, there are people who think it’s a little odd for a third Bush to be president of the United States”.
Trump did not attend this event because of a long-simmering feud with state party officials. “He’s popular here (in New Hampshire), he’s popular in Iowa, and he’s the most popular Republican in the country”. Yet, for all of the “blah, blah” about Jeb and Papa Bush being the smarter, more reasonable members of the family, it’s still Cowboy George who has had the most success.
Jeb reiterated his pledge to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Day One, though acknowledging it may “seem controversial”.
But only Bush delivered harsh words for Trump. It closes with Trump in an interview saying he will be tough on illegal immigration.
He said he would seek the advice of his father, his brother and all the former presidents, if elected, but admitted that with Obama: “I don’t know if I would agree with his advice”.
Asked later for details of when his brother would campaign with him, Bush said he didn’t know when or in which state they would appear together. According to the campaign, the letter was her idea, and when the campaign fact-checked the statistics she used about his record, they found them all to be accurate.
