Barbra Streisand makes United States chart history with Encore album
“Encore” is a follow-up to Streisand’s 2014 smash hit “Partners”, which saw her sing with a dozen men including Blake Shelton, Michael Buble and Elvis Presley. It also solidified her spot as the woman with the most number one albums.
The latest musical effort from the US DJ duo is now top of the charts in the US and Australia.
Encore is Barbra Streisand’s thirty-fifth studio album, according to AceShowbiz.
Happy to land at number one for the 11th time, Barbra Streisand. The Beatles are in first place, with 19, and Jay-Z is in second place, with 13 number one albums to his credit.
Remarkably, Encore’s success comes almost 52 years after Streisand’s first number one album which was 1964′s People. According to Broadway World, Encore was “released on Columbia Records”.
Streaming equivalent sales – in which 1,500 song streams are counted as the equivalent of one album sale – only accounted for 1,000 of Streisand’s total.
