Barcelona’s Luis Enrique named FIFA Coach of the Year
Messi won the top honor at the Ballon d’Or awards gala in Zurich, but it was a night to celebrate the greatest achievements from the past year in world football.
During Messi’s previous Ballon d’Or winning campaigns of 2011 and 2012, he was imperious as he was employed in a false nine position in the team.
“It’s hard to compare him to all the ones I’ve played alongside”, Messi told Fifa’s website.
Luis Enrique would like to bolster Barcelona’s attacking options – despite the club possessing the most prolific trio in world football in Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. He’s being recognized as the greatest player of all time and we’re so lucky to have players like Neymar in these ceremonies as well.
‘I think there were lots of players to help us have that incredible year and they also deserve these prizes but not everyone can win. It’s down to the voters.
Barcelona’s Luis Enrique has emerged the FIFA World Coach of the Year 2015 in the male category at the on going FIFA Awards ceremony.
After winning the treble last season for Barcelona, Luis Enrique was rewarded with the 2015 Coach of the Year award. Enrique won 31.08% of the votes, edging Guardiola, who earned 22.97%.
Speaking at a news conference ahead of Wednesday’s Copa del Rey return against city rivals Espanyol – Barca lead 4-1 after the Camp Nou opener – he was asked which area he thought needed strengthening.
“I’ve spoken to my players but nothing happened the other day that can’t happen again, I’ve seen this kind of game many times in the past”.
