Basketball Player Kobe Byrant Announces Retirement
“I can’t love you obsessively for much longer” The Lakers have won just two of their 16 matches so far this season, with Bryant averaging 15.7 points per game.
Since it’s apparent that this is his last season, Kobe Bryant retiring made game ticket prices to soar with ridiculous amounts.
Lakers head coach Byron Scott said that he was extremely shocked to hear about the retirement of Byrant.
“For him to come back and play his first game [at Wells Fargo] after announcing his retirement is a priviledge for all of us”. “I’m just not going to do it. But I certainly embrace the city and I love everything that it’s taught me”.
He has appeared in 17 All-Star games, was named the Most Valuable Player for the 2007-08 regular season and landed MVP honours in the 2009 and 2010 finals when he led the Lakers to consecutive championships. After the L.A. Lakers lost to the Indiana Pacers last Sunday, Bryant also addressed the media.
“He had an fantastic career, a guy who changed the game for me as a player mentally, physically”.
Durant said, “You guys treated one of our legends like s-t and I didn’t really like it”. James can replay all of them in his mind, and he’s struggling with the idea that he’ll never get to see Bryant add to that list.
Either James or Bryant has played in every Finals since 2007, but never against one another.
IN star forward Paul George said the 37-year-old Bryant will always be an inspiration to him. “I am very solid with this decision”, he said. “We both know, no matter what I do next, I’ll always be that kid, with the rolled up socks, garbage can in the corner, :05 seconds on the clock, ball in my hands”, he wrote.
Durant also said that he “idolised” Bryant and that he was one of the National Basketball Association players he tried to emulate.
“I wanted to be just like him, man”, James said Tuesday.
“I’ve been disappointed this year because you guys treated him like [expletive]”, Durant told reporters Monday via The Oklahoman.
Leading up to that series, Bryant let it be known to Sixers fans that he was going to “cut their hearts out”. But respect to one of the greats in this game and you hate to see him go.
“The first play of the game he ran through the chest of Pau Gasol and got a flagrant”.
