‘Batman v Superman’ new trailer arrives online
Well it’s official: Warner Bros. have shut down Hall H this evening after unleashing a staggering new trailer for the eagerly-awaited superhero epic Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The first full-length trailer for the film featured the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) asking the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) “do you bleed?” – but the second look showed us more from the film than we’ve ever seen before.
The rumours about Joker killing Robin and getting locked up with The Suicide Squad seem legit, as Bruce Wayne looks over a costume spray-painted with the phrase “Haha, the Joke’s on you Batman” and that could have caused Bruce to retire. It’s exactly the dark, gritty, brooding mishmash of superheroes and self-flagellation that has come to define anything whatsoever related to Batman.
Superhero problems: Ben Affleck reveals at Comic-Con that Christian Bale’s Batman advice to was “make sure you can p*ss in that suit”. But with the movie not premiering until April 2016, filmgoers will just have to wait and see whether Bat-fleck can pull it off. We get Lex Luthor scheming. I enjoyed Michael Keaton’s first run at Batman, the ones after that weren’t so great.
Gadot – a star of the Furious franchise – spoke about how honoured she felt about playing Wonder Woman, immortalised on screen by Lynda Carter in the 1970s TV series.
Juding by the fan reaction, it looks like the new Deadpool movie will be quite a hit. Wonder Woman (2017) is still very far away from being released, but I can’t wait to see Gadot in action.
The vengeful hero is then seen clutching a newspaper report with the words: “You let your family die” scrawled across it.
As the villain Lex Luthor, Eisenberg said that there’s “always a campy element to the character”. The way he says “the red capes are coming” is perfectly villainous. The first moments of the trailer show the damage and destruction that Superman has unfortunately caused in Metropolis. “I feel very privileged to bring Wonder Woman back to life and I can’t wait to celebrate that with you!”
