Battery charge against Bills coach Kromer dropped
Florida prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor battery charge against Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer on Friday. On July 12, Kromer was arrested after allegedly confronting three minors over the late-night use of his beach chairs, then punching one of the minors in the face.
On Friday, the Florida state attorney’s office dropped the charges against Kromer and his son, writing in a statement that the parents of the alleged victims requested that the charges be dropped. Assistant offensive line coach Kurt Anderson led the Bills’ offensive line in drills and was assisted by former Chicago Bears offensive line coach Pat Meyer, who the Bills hired as a football operations consultant this summer.
Kromer’s son, Zachery, is also scheduled to appear in court on September 2 for a pretrial hearing on a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from the same incident. The Bills will begin training camp Friday.
Both Kromers had pleaded not guilty on Thursday.
Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News reported the Bills are still expected to suspend Kromer without pay to start the season.
Rodak followed up that the accusers’ family reached an agreement with the assistant coach and no longer desires to continue with the case.
