‘Battlefield Hardline’ Betrayal DLC Equips Players with Swords
They used to do similar things in the game Gunz: The Duel, where players would face off in an alley and duke it out with just swords or other melee weapons. The coming expansion will come out this March for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
Battlefield Hardline has a DLC pack called the Betrayal DLC coming out in March, and we’ve already covered what to expected from it. But more details have been streaming in about Betrayal, and it’s apparently going to include a sword as one of its 7 weapons. As the name suggests, this expansion extends the gameplay after you’ve successfully conducted a heist and escaped from the police.
The game’s site lists four new territories with the Betrayal expansion. There will be even more maps to go swinging swords around in, including Cemetery, Thin Ice and Alcatraz. This allows you to to “customize primary weapons and uniforms” before testing them at the gun range. Two of these-we can safely assume Alcatraz and Chinatown-can be seen in the images above. Polygon notes that weapons can be carried by cops and robbers. They also announced that there will be new assignments and legendary weapon camos. On top of all this, another tweak that comes along with the update will see every Gold Battlepack you open having the chance of containing a weapon license voucher – a Distinguished class item that unlocks an entire weapon license. It put a clever spin on the usual Battlefield formula, and we’re sure the swords will help give the game a unique feel in a genre overflowing with admittingly similar games.
Furthermore, a base game update will also be releasing together with the DLC.
