Bayern coach Pep Guardiola hits out at media treatment
Pep Guardiola insists his multi-tasking qualities mean his forthcoming tenure as Manchester City manager will not distract him from matters at Bayern Munich.
Pellegrini hasn’t had the best of luck over the last few years.
Indeed, it was the sort of win that identifies champions as Pellegrini, still seeking to bow out fancifully with triumphs in four separate competitions, could reflect on a 65th victory in his 100th league match. “That is a possibility with City this season”.
For Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce, survival itself is the only benchmark of success and it was no consolation to him that his side had outplayed a team who could end up as Premier League champions. Again, though, soccer’s current most-coveted coach has taken his job.
The Eastlands outfit confirmed that the exiting Bayern Munich manager will succeed Pellegrini once his contract in Bavaria expires, leaving the Chilean jobless once the season is over.
“He’s always going to get chances, so I had to be aware that as well as the centre-halves played, he was always going to get a chance and I had to make sure I stepped up”. It is very exciting for everybody outside of our team, but in our team it is the moment we live in. We hope we can finish in the same way. With the bickering Mancini and Mario Balotelli no longer around, the negative headlines and off-field drama at City largely disappeared.
And Hart believes Pellegrini’s dignified stance to being shown the door by City and a determination to go out in a blaze of trophy glory deserves major respect.
Shearer has been particularly outspoken about City this season.
The keeper, who was repeatedly booed by the home fans after charging upfield to confront referee Stuart Attwell over a Defoe challenge on defender Martin Demichelis, said: “He’s really sharp, Jermain Defoe, he’s a killer”.
His second season was a major disappointment, though, exposing his flaws as a tactician.
According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Man City timed the announcement to give Pellegrini maximum visibility.
The positives will likely outweigh the negatives when Pellegrini’s reign is analyzed.
“And aside from that he is a coach who soaks up the pressure on the players, someone who prefers to take the heat so that his players can be relaxed”.
“That was why it was so important before we play against Leicester next week at home to win these points away and be involved in all the competitions”.
“We have Manuel as our manager and are fighting on all fronts”.
