Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola irked by persistent speculation
Chelsea have had a disastrous start to their season so far, having just 11 points from the opening 10 games and having lost five times already, including twice at the previously impregnable Stamford Bridge. Although their 2-0 loss to Arsenal FC, at the Emirates Stadium last week was a bit of a blip, in an otherwise flawless season, the coach himself seems to be in huge demand.
A few of our punters here at the Transfer Tavern are getting pretty excited by a few of the news today, with it being suggested that Pep Guardiola could be heading to the Premier League a lot sooner than we first anticipated.
The Spaniard is being linked with struggling Chelsea and is said to be a long-term target of Manchester City, but he has refused to comment on the rumours. This string of bad results has resulted in the West London club dropping to 15th in the Premier League table.
The lack of wins has not been Chelsea FC’s only problem this season.
Pep Guardiola has handed the initiative to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as the Russian looks set to replace current boss Mourinho.
Wolfsburg host Bayern Munich in the German Cup this evening and Guardiola is certain the Wolves are badly missing De Bruyne.
And Henry, who won two league titles and the Champions League under Guardiola during his time at Barca, believes the 44-year-old is well suited to Premier League football.
As such, it would seem Guardiola has unfinished business with the club.
