Bayern Munich: Muller will never be sold – just like Messi and Rooney
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident Pep Guardiola will sign a contract renewal with the Bundesliga champions.
The 26-year-old was linked with a move Old Trafford during the recent summer window, but was denied a move despite rumours of £60million bid for his services being placed.
“Muller will stay at Bayern, regardless of what any club offers”, Rummenigge told Bild.
“We have a great offer on the table, which you can not just shove aside”.
Writing in his new book, Leading, Ferguson revealed that United’s scouts had been keeping tabs on Muller when he was 10, but the player soon committed his future to Bayern Munich.
However, Rummenigge says the club’s star striker belongs to Bayern in the same way Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney belong to Barcelona and Manchester United respectively. “It should stay like that”.
The Red Devils were known to be keen on the German worldwide as they sought to strengthen in attack, with Louis van Gaal also chasing ambitious buys like Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Muller has now started the 2015/16 in superb form once again and has managed to score a total of six goals in the first six league games for the German giants.
