Bayern Munich: New signings dressed in traditional fashion

Kevin Volland believes that Hoffenheim can cause a surprise with an attacking approach against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Bayern, in the hunt for a record fourth consecutive league title, began their Bundesliga campaign with a 5-0 demolition of Hamburg last Friday.

Once hailed as they Bundesliga’s new blood after their exciting climb up the divisions and their first top tier season in 2008, Hoffenheim have so far failed to replicate that season when they were ahead of Bayern by the halfway mark.

“We must try to immediately lay down a marker”, said the winger.

“They’re so good they can take apart nearly every other team in the world”. I have to train hard and train well, but I think it’s all going well.

“Schweinsteiger is such a crucial player, as can be seen from the World Cup final against Argentina last year”, said Matthaus, who was the inaugural FIFA World Footballer of the Year in 1991 and the only German to have got the recognition to date.

United have already conducted one high-profile Bayern Munich raid this summer, with the capture of midfield general Bastian Schweinsteiger earlier in the transfer window.

“We can not just defend, because then it will only be a matter of time until they score”, he said. We have to be courageous, we have to attack and be aggressive.

“Obviously, this is a risky strategy but in my view the only way to have a chance against them”, the Germany global added.
