Bayern thrashes Bremen 6-0 in Bundesliga opener
Bayern went into the half-time break with a two goal advantage, thanks to Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern dominated possession from the first whistle, with Muller having an early shot deflected narrowly wide for a corner, and the opening goal soon arrived. A one-two between Muller and Philipp Lahm resulted in the latter finding the target off the inside of the far post.
On Friday, Lewandowski netted Bayern’s first at Munich’s Allianz Arena with only 13 minutes gone.
Bremen has now conceded 32 goals in its last six matches in Munich.
Bayern are also the bookies’ favourites to lift win the Champions League this season.
Ancelotti, who replaced the new Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, at Bayern in the close season, said before the game that the Bavarians were aiming to win every competition this season.
“In fact, I have changed very little in this team, it’s a great team”.
The match began with a minute of silence for the victims of the Italian natural disaster.
Ribery’s long-range pass down the left put Lewandowski in behind the defence and the Poland hot-shot tucked his shot past Wiedwald from the tightest of angles.
“I’m very happy, this is a very good performance from my team”.
Bayern needed just 39 seconds of the second half to make it three when Lewandowski, last season’s top league scorer, got on the end of a Thomas Mueller cross after Bremen lost the ball in their own half. Lahm’s shot bounced in off the post, while Ribery drove under the crossbar from near the penalty sport.
He converted a penalty midway through the second half, after defender Rafinha was fouled in the area, to wrap up his hat-trick on 77 minutes.
Incredibly, Bremen had leaked a ridiculous 22 goals in their four previous visits to the Allianz Arena.
Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick as Bayern Munich got their quest for a fifth consecutive Bundesliga title off to a flawless start at the Allianz Arena.
