‘Baywatch’: Alexandra Daddario Is the New Nicole Eggert in R-Rated Comedy
Alexandra Daddario is joining former on-screen pop Dwayne Johnson in Baywatch. The actress was selected from a shortlist that included Spring Breakers’ Ashley Benson and X-Men: Apocalypse’s Alexandra Shipp. Daddario recently co-starred with Johnson in San Andreas, and her recent credits also include the first season of HBO’s True Detective, and Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
‘The #BaywatchFamily so far consists of a tatted up bald guy named Rock, the cool, yet extremely unattractive Zac Efron, the talented and gorgeous Alexandra Daddario…and a few big casting announcements coming soon’. The Rock took to Instagram to announce the news and also confirm that the role of CJ Parker – played by Pamela Anderson in the original – is forthcoming.
The role of Summer Quinn was made famous by actress Nicole Eggert, who played the character on television from 1992 to 1994.
The plot of the Baywatch movie is, of course, absolutely hilarious.
Frightful Bosses helmer Seth Gordon is directing the picture, which is planned as a very R-rated movie and finds Johnson playing a very serious by-the-book lifeguard who is forced to team up with a young hothead (Efron) in order to save the beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.
