BBC announce one-off special, Adele at the BBC
“This opportunity to spend an hour with Adele, her music and her stories is a truly rare treat. If I wasn’t hosting this special I’d be sat at home watching it!”
Applications for audience tickets for the show are open now, with tickets to be allocated via a a ballot.
Can someone please tell us the secret on how Adele gets her hair a few voluminous and bouncy like a 60s glamour puss?!
The Grammy Award-winning singer was terrified no-one would like the 30-second teaser of her new single, which was released over the weekend ahead of the official release. Adele will be accompanied by her live band and she’ll be talking to Graham Norton about her life and her music.
“Obviously, I took a lot of time off because I came a mum”, she said.
“The Kanye song I did, we never finished it. It just was kind of in a different direction, but they definitely gave it two cents of the album”.
She added: “I thought I’d missed my window”. Adele arrives in the countryside and takes out her flip phone to try and make a call, but it does not seem as if the other person on the line can hear her. She delivers an ode to the Verizon wireless commercials of old as her signal drops.
She will perform on the US TV show on the same night Matthew McConaughey returns to host.
Anticipation for her material is high after her last record, 21, sold more than 30 million copies around the world. “Her first ever play was “Daydreamer” on Reggie Yates” BBC Radio 1 show.
He shared: “Kanye and Ruben were a part of the process, but they don’t have any records on the album”.
“It’s phenomenal what happened with that – but it is a phenomenon”.
