Bears rookie WR Kevin White: ‘I feel like I can play’
White suffered a stress fracture to his shin in OTAs.
According to Pace, White had a setback during the last week and will now undergo surgery that would at least keep him out for the majority of the schedule, if not the entire season.
Prior to the announcement, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook pegged Chicago with a season win total of seven.
Interestingly, as recently as Friday White sounded like he was ready to get back on the field.
“I feel I can play”, he continued.
The Chicago Bears needed to bolster their offense in the offseason to make sure they didn’t fall into the rut that had been dug for them during the Marc Trestman era. Entering the season, the belief was that the Bears’ wide receiving core could be among the best in the NFL with White, Alshon Jeffery, Eddie Royal, and Marquess Wilson as the team’s top four wide receivers.
“Anybody who has watched film from last year or anybody who is a smart coach knows that we can’t, especially being in Chicago, just throw the ball every down”, Forte continued.
And that point becomes even more important with White now on the shelf.
