Bears to sign quarterback Mike Glennon

-Glennon’s last start came on November 2, 2014 when he threw 2 TD’s, 2 INT’s in a loss to the Brian Hoyer-led Browns. There was no guaranteed money left on the contract extension he signed a few days after the 2013 season, making the move to cut the 33-year-old widely expected. However, there are the usual questions about a spread quarterback – can he perform in the pocket, and can he survive the beating he’ll take from National Football League defenses?

By cutting Cutler, Chicago will clear $14 million off its 2017 salary cap.

“The Jets do have some interest in Jay Cutler”. None was selected in Chicago’s previous two drafts.

Glennon figures to sign the contract when the free agent period opens at 3 PM on Thursday afternoon.

The Bears now hold the third overall selection in this year’s draft after going 3-13 this past season, and could potentially look to select one of the top three quarterbacks in this year’s draft class.
