Beast of the east: Huawei to begin making phones in India
After all the hype, the company has finally launched Huawei P9 in India, on Aug 17.
Huawei P9 price in India is Rs. 39,999.
Speaking about other technical specifications, the Huawei P9 comes equipped with a 5.2 inch 1080p display, while being powered by the new Kirin 955 2.5GHz 64-bit ARM-based processor, and backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
Huawei is aiming to garner 10% share in India’s highly competitive smartphone market, on the back of its dual-brand strategy and special focus on the offline retail channel, having restructured its consumer, or handset, business. The rear camera unit is capable of capturing 4K videos, while on the front is an 8-megapixel camera with F/2.4 aperture. We mean realistic photos, with true to life colours, accurate white balance and tonality something Leica’s cameras are known for and also the ease and simplicity provided by a smartphone camera.
Huawei Watch runs on Android Wear and is compatible with Android and iOS smartphone. The microSD card support up to 128GB doesn’t change on the P9 Plus.
Huawei is providing a 2-year warranty to consumers in India, as part of its “VIP service”.
The Huawei P9 has officially made its way to India, sans the bigger Plus variant of the handset.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Huawei’s devices were recognised by EISA in this category. LG G5 comes with a 5.3-inch Quad HD always-on display. Also, there is an 8MP front facing camera to cover up the selfies.
This phone G9 Plus supports Dual SIM support. All the standard set of connectivity options are present in the smartphone such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG. The Huawei P9 also comes with Marshmallow but along with its custom Emotion UI 4.1 skin atop it.
The headline-grabbing aspect of the P9 is without a doubt its 12MP dual-camera setup, the result of a collaboration with Leica. To recall, a 4GB of RAM/ 64GB of inbuilt storage variant was also unveiled at the global launch, but has not been brought to India.
Xiang Ligang, telecom expert and CEO of the industry website cctime.com, said: “Honor 8 mirrors Huawei’s cutting-edge technology”.
