Beatles Music to Arrive on Streaming Services
The other streaming services to include Beatles in the catalogues are Microsoft Groove, Napster, Amazon Prime Music, Slacker Radio and Tidal.
Get your fashionable miniskirts and knee high boots on while screaming loudly because after a near eternal absence legandary British band The Beatles has finally come to streaming music services. “Fans will be able to stream all 13 remastered studio albums, as well as four essential collections from the greatest band in modern history”.
Music fans had been discussing the band’s arrival to Apple Music’s streaming service for quite some time. The Fab Four announced their entry into the world of streaming with a video that reflects on their entire recording career and trumpets “The Beatles Now Streaming”.
The music has remained popular, but it wasn’t available digitally until Apple’s iTunes acquired rights five years ago. Depending upon your location in the world its probably already available (at the time of writing there’s just a small sliver of the earth where its still 23rd December).
There’s a really simply reason why the Beatles catalogue took so long to join streaming services – their publishers didn’t want to do anything to damage potential sales of reissues and retrospectives – it’s a very lucrative catalogue.
“Are you ready Christmas Eve 12:01 AM, we are coming to you from out of the blue – peace and love peace love”, drummer Ringo Starr tweeted following the announcement. Taylor Swift famously stripped 1989’s tracks from Spotify in 2014 and Adele debuted her record-breaking third album, 25, without listing it on a single streaming device.
The decision to bring The Beatles to all the major streaming services is a welcome change from the current trend of artists offering their music exclusively on one platform.
Consider it an early Christmas gift for your dad: The Beatles will start streaming online.
