‘Beauty and the Beast’ to get sequel?
The gorgeous 1991 animated classic now becomes a feature film. “If you want your old favorite dressed in sumptuous new clothes, that’s what you’ll get”. What was it like, switching to something more lighthearted? Hopefully these prognosticators aren’t counting too many chickens before they’re hatched, or suddenly they’ll see the opening as “disappointing” if it really does “only” make $120 million.
How did you shape the voice for Madame Garderobe? . I do think here it’s the incredible strength she has. Having said that, this flick is about 80 percent the same as the animated movie, so even if you don’t love all the differences from the original B&B, you can still enjoy everything they kept the same. Then told me to ask about Belle.
Colin Covert agrees this retelling is “less magical” than the 1991 original, “an underperforming example of more being considerably less”, he writes at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Or was it more laid back? But if that makes it sound like I didn’t like the movie, I did!
I know, I’m a television major, and will always stick up for the arts, but in all honesty, the magic of film can inspire children to go and do what they want and inspire them to be themselves, especially with this film.
How long did filming take for your role? They would request that I would put them in and freak their friends out. But it was all worth it.

Belle, a lovely and intelligent woman from a nearby village, unexpectedly falls in love with the Beast after being held captive in his enchanted castle. Disney, are you reading this? “I used to go to the theater with my mum and dad and watch the musicals on the West End in London”, he recently told readers in an Entertainment Weekly question-and-answer session. I don’t believe I’ve done any searching for the film either, so I think it’s not due to perceived interest.
You’ve worked with organizations like Freedom to Marry and NO H8, which support gay marriage.
McDonald thinks the whole thing has been “overblown”.
“(The character) is wonderful because the film is about not only becoming worthy of love but learning to love oneself and seeing past the surface, to see someone for who they truly are and being comfortable with different types of people and whatnot”, she said.
